Saskatoon Fire and Protective Services is hosting two Open Houses to emphasize the importance of cooking safely. The Open Houses will be on Wednesday, October 9th at Fire Station No. 2 (3111 Diefenbaker Drive) and Thursday, October 10th at Fire Station No. 8 (207 Slimmon Road). Both Open Houses will run from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.

There will be free chili and hot dogs, a free draw for an antique pedal fire truck, a fire extinguisher display and the highlight of the evening, a ‘live burn’. The ‘live burn’ will visually demonstrate how quickly a fire can grow in a kitchen and will end with firefighters extinguishing the fire.
