APCCA Winter 2022 Programs

Learn to Skate (3-5 yrs)

Saturday, 3-3:45 pm at St. Philips Outdoor Rink
OR Sunday, 3-3:45 pm at Hugh Cairns Outdoor Rink
Jan 15/16 – mid-March
Bring skates, helmet, & warm clothing to allow for outdoor instruction. PPE masks are encouraged but not required for outdoor activities.
To allow instruction to occur efficiently and equitably, kids should be accompanied by a parent or guardian to assist, if required.
Classes will be cancelled if the temperature exceeds -20 degrees Celsius with windchill. Attempts to make up classes will be made.
Please register for the proper age group and be prepared to be placed in the Saturday or the Sunday program. We want to balance the number of registrants in each group but could likely accommodate some requests for specific days via emails to darcywarrington@gmail.com. $45

Floor Hockey (7-11 yrs)

Woodworking (10-13 yrs)

Monday, 6:30-8 pm

Adelaide Park – Rink Maintenance Building
Students will learn basic woodworking techniques using tools such as hammer, drill, screwdriver, pull and coping saws, ruler, tape measure, pliers, clamps, smoothing plane, and sandpaper. Some materials will be prepared ahead of time to ensure student safety. Materials for building are provided with the $50 fee. $50

Beginner Crochet (18+)

Tuesday, 7-8:30 pm
Feb 8 – Mar 22
Prince Philip School library
Learn basic stitches to make something. You will be sent a list of supplies you need to bring to class, such as a crochet hook and yarn. Proof of vaccination is required. $50

Mindful Yoga (18+)

Monday, 8-9 pm

Facilitated by Jennelle Dodd, C-IAYT
This class weaves together yoga postures and breath practices with embodiment, compassion, and mindfulness. Emphasis is not on touching your toes, but instead on uncovering your capacity to bring your best self to your life.
This class is appropriate for those new to and familiar with yoga. You will be supported and empowered to adapt the class to meet your needs.
Please bring a yoga mat, your curiosity, and wear comfy
clothing for movement. Proof of vaccination is required. $60

TRX Strength & Cardio

Tuesday 6:30-7:30 pm (for Jan 18th) at St. Philip School
Tuesday 6-7 pm (for remainder Jan 25th- Mar 29th) at Queen Elizabeth School
TRX is a type of suspension training that uses body weight exercises to develop strength, balance, flexibility and core stability! This class will focus on increasing cardiovascular and building full body strength. No experience necessary. Proof of vaccination is required. $60

Zumba

Thursday,
Jan 20th- Feb 3rd 6:30-7:30 pm at Prince Philip School
Feb 10th- Mar 24th 6-7pm pm at Queen Elizabeth School
Bring non-marking indoor shoes & a water bottle
Zumba is a fitness program that combines Latin and international music with dance moves. Zumba routines incorporate interval training — alternating fast and slow rhythms — to help improve cardiovascular fitness. Proof of vaccination is required. $60
